1. Which three items should always feature in any table setting?
It's very simple: beautiful Villeroy & Boch tableware with matching glasses and cutlery, of course. And something that is always very important for me - a few fresh flowers.

2. What is the difference between menus and table settings for personal and business invitations?
The menu and table setting for a business event tend to be more classic and formal. In the case of a personal occasion, there is more scope for creativity and colour with both of these aspects.

3. What makes a good guest?
A good guest shows appreciation towards the host and other guests. He or she is cheerful and communicative and contributes to the success of the occasion.

4. What is your personal favourite Villeroy & Boch collection?
That’s a very difficult question. Over the last 270 years, we have launched so many beautiful decors that I always find it hard to settle on just one or two. My current favourite is the beautifully vibrant Amazonia decor. I also particularly like Anmut Platinum, with its timeless elegance. Not forgetting our great new Manufacture collection.

5. What is your emergency plan for occasions when visitors call in unexpectedly?
As well as beautiful tableware, the Saar region also produces excellent wines. We always have a bottle of Saar Riesling chilling in the fridge. I serve this with a few nuts and some cheese and my unexpected visitor is happy.
