Bathroom ceramics - CeramicPlus
Thanks to a special process, the surface of CeramicPlus is dirt-repellent, so that water and oily substances form droplets and run off the surface, conveying dirt and scale particles into the drain. If something should get stuck, then CeramicPlus is much easier to clean.
Standard all-purpose cleaners and a sponge with a soft, non-scratching surface or a microfibre cloth are best for the regular care of CeramicPlus. Abrasive cleaners should not be used as they could impair the beading effect.
All CeramicPlus products have a "Cplus" stamp. On some products the lettering and stamp are combined: A capital C with the supplement "CeramicPlus Villeroy & Boch".
CeramicPlus is resistant to all standard cleaning agents. This also applies to products that contain acids, solvents and tensides. Exceptions are scouring powder and prolonged contact with alkaline products (pipe cleaner, mould remover).
CeramicPlus is available for our entire range of bathroom ceramics and ceramic sinks. The colours Starwhite, Beige, Manhattan and Edelweiss are only available in the CeramicPlus version. White and Pergamon are available both with and without CeramicPlus.
CeramicPlus is resistant to disinfectants. The manufacturers' instructions for these products must be observed. Exceptions are products with pH 12 and chlorous products, which can impair the effect of the CeramicPlus surface after prolonged contact.
Bathroom ceramics - Sinks / toilets
Condensation is formed by damp air on cold surfaces. It can be prevented by ventilating the bathroom sufficiently. Maintain a constant room temperature and ventilate the room well during dry weather.
According to DIN 1387 and 1388, free standing toilets must have a height of 390 mm +/- 10 mm. There is no standard height for wall-mounted toilets. However, the above-mentioned standards are used as a basis. The recommended height, and standard height specified in the catalogue, is thus 400 mm, measured from the floor to the top edge of the toilet.
One reason for the occurrence of splash water is the size of the flushing channel. Each flushing process creates a gush of water, which traps air and entrains it. Due to the uplift, the air bubbles entrain water particles upwards, thus causing the splashing effect. A further reason lies in the surface tension of the flushing water, which is influenced by the water hardness. Cistern manufacturers offer flush flow restrictors, dependent on the model type, by means of which the dynamics of the flushing process can be optimised. Slight splashing, however, is unavoidable and by reason of the aforementioned causes not a defect.
The surface of the toilet seat is sealed and pore-free, which ensures optimum hygiene. Therefore, please do not use abrasive, chloric or acidic cleaners as they damage the surface and can cause yellowish discolourations and surface rust. Only use a mild, pH-neutral soap solution for cleaning. Should toilet cleaner and/or other aggressive cleaning agents come into contact with the toilet seat and/or hinges, then rinse it off with clear water. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off any residual dampness on the seat and hinges. Make sure the toilet seat and lid remain open until all of the cleaning agent in the toilet bowl has been flushed away.
Toilet seats are usually subjected to frequent one and double-sided loads. The fastening on the ceramic surface is therefore highly stressed due to the regular dynamic load. The screw connections can thus possibly work loose due to regular use of the toilet. We therefore advise you to check the fastenings at regular intervals and to tighten them as required.
The valve cup and a suitable ceramic cover are also supplied on purchasing a Loop & Friends bathroom sink. This equipment is sufficient when using a non-lockable valve - additional accessories are not required. If you opt for a lockable valve, then a valve plug and the valve cup counter screw connection incl. eccentric rod are also required. They are usually included with the tap fitting.
ViClean
ViClean meets the requirements of the DIN EN1717 for the protection of the drinking water supply. Retraction of the soiled water into the drinking water supply is not possible.
Safety repairs and additional costs are not applicable.
For a cleaning procedure, the maximum water consumption of ViClean is 500 ml/min.
In addition, you will need water for the toilet flush, just like for every other toilet.
No. In Europe, several regulations exist regarding the use of water and electricity in one device. ViClean of course meets all these regulatory requirements.
Yes, the ViClean can still be used as a toilet, as flushing is still provided. Only the shower and comfort functions of the shower toilet are not available in the event of a power failure.
The power consumption is highly dependent on the number of persons in the household and their usage habits. Generally it can be said that the consumption is similar to that of modern standard household appliances. The heated seat as a comfort function is one of the main factors.
In the case of a standard toilet set, the weight is absorbed via the hinges on the ceramics. In the case of the ViClean, the hinges are at a higher point within the plastic hull. Frequent pressure to the cover can lower the lifespan of the hinges.
You can find further info about the functions on the ViClean website (ViClean-I 100, ViClean-I 200).
No. The ViClean seat is attached permanently and should never be attached or removed without professional help. The ViClean seats only fit on specific toilets designed by Villeroy & Boch for this purpose.

Bathroom ceramics - ViFresh
If you can no longer detect any fresh fragrance and the foaming effect in the toilet bowl disappears or is greatly reduced, you should replace the rim-block / refill the toilet gel.
The lid is made from hard-wearing plastic and therefore very robust. In normal use, the lid should not break. However, only flush the toilet if the ViFresh lid is closed as otherwise water could escape.
Please ask your plumber or wholesaler.
The ViFresh adapter is very tough. However, in the unlikely event that something is not working correctly, we offer replacement parts. In such cases, please contact your plumber or wholesaler.
Rinse the holder thoroughly under running water each time you refill toilet gel or replace a rim-block to guarantee lasting benefit. Use a mild soap solution to clean the toilet. Do not leave the toilet seat or hinges damp. Dry them with a soft cloth. Contact with toilet cleaners or chlorinated, abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents may lead to damage or surface rust on the seat/lid and hinges. You should therefore always keep the toilet seat and lid raised until the cleaning agent has been flushed away.
Simply turn the ViFresh lid to the left or right until you hear a soft clicking sound. Lift the lid and remove the holder. Clean it under running water to remove any residue. Refill the holder with a new rim-block / toilet gel. Then return the holder to the flushing pipe and close the lid. Make sure that the seals have been cleaned and are dry and positioned correctly.
You will find a wide selection of products in supermarkets, pharmacies or online. We recommend the use of standard toilet fragrance blocks no larger than the size of the ViFresh holder or standard gel cleaners.
The process has been designed to be as intuitive as possible in order to eliminate virtually any risk of error. However, to ensure you can enjoy the benefits of the ViFresh toilet for as long as possible, we recommend that you rinse the holder under running water each time you replace a block or refill gel. When you replace the basket, please make sure that the seals are clean and in the correct position.

Care / Cleaning
Black lines on ceramic can be caused, e.g. by metallic abrasion from jewellery. These marks can be removed by using Etolit or Stahlfix. To do so, apply the cleaning substance on a dry cloth und rub the dry, dirty area. These cleaning agents, however, can damage the ceramic surface if used too often. Therefore, only treat the dirty area and not the entire basin.
The hinges on our toilet seats are made of high-quality, rust-free stainless steel. Urine and abrasive, chloric or acidic cleaners attack the surface and can make the hinges oxidise. Surface rust forms, which can usually only be removed by grinding and polishing the surface.
In order to avoid cleaning errors, please observe the information in the cleaning instructions included in the delivery.
Limescale marks are best removed by means of commercially available descalers (distilled white vinegar or diluted vinegar essence). The effect is improved by using a soft, non-scratching sponge. Soap and grease residues can be easily removed by means of a fat-dissolving cleaner. For further care recommendations and instructions, please refer to our care instructions or our website.

Wellness
Quaryl consists mainly of a natural mineral substance. Villeroy & Boch mixes the fine quartz dust with liquid acrylic and some high-quality additives in a special way to obtain a consistently homogenous material, which is ideal for designing and using baths and shower trays.
All standard outlets can be used for the super flat shower trays. In order to ensure trouble-free water drainage, we recommend the following outlets, which you can order from our specialist dealers:
U90880261 (chrome-plated)
U90880368 (white).
The outlet is already integrated in the Squaro Super Flat model.
Wellness - Outdoor whirlpools
This is probably due to the level of chemicals in your whirlpool tub. You should check this. If the chemicals in your whirlpool tub are set correctly, then there is no smell.
If the foundation of your whirlpool tub is only slightly inclined, then this does not impair the whirlpool tubs's performance or its construction. The installation surface, however, should not have a slope, depression or bumps. Most terraces or backyards are built so that they slope away from the house, so water can flow away from the house. The inclination should not exceed 1.27 cm over a distance of 2.44 m. No levelling pieces/stones or shims should be used to level the whirlpool tub as they can cause tension in the tub and cause damage to it.
Please note that pools must always be connected by an electrician!
In general, all Villeroy & Boch outdoor pools can be connected to virtually all electricity supplies, i.e. single phase (230V), dual phase (2 x 230V) or three phase (400V) with a 16 amp fuse.
For more information, please see the instructions.
Please discuss the various options with an expert.
Find your nearest dealer here.
The neutral conductor from the whirlpool tub to the fuse box must be connected to the switch itself and not to the busbar because it is not a special 240V whirlpool tub. If the neutral conductor is connected to the busbar, the switch triggers immediately when the system is switched on. Refer to the circuit diagram.
Installation of the whirlpool tub must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations. The electrical installation should always be done by an authorised expert. Every Villeroy & Boch whirlpool tub is manufactured and tested according to certain standards that ensure the highest possible protection against electric shock. A faulty electrical connection can impair the operational safety of the whirlpool tub, which could lead to electric shock, injury or death. Furthermore, a faulty electrical connection can lead to maloperation of the whirlpool equipment and a risk of fire.
A trolley or a cart with a load capacity of at least 450 kg. The whirlpool tub can be pulled over most carpets.
Caution: Do not lift the whirlpool tub on the door side as this side is not designed to carry the weight of the whirlpool tub and the door could break. Lift the whirlpool tub at the sturdy base of the tub and not at the edge of the tub or the exterior cover panels.
To clean the system, switch the pump alternately to high/low speed at least six to seven times.
The wet area of the pump has a vent valve. Open the valve until all the air has escaped and water starts to drip out. Alternatively, undo the connection at the pump and let air escape until you can see water. Do not try to do this whilst the whirlpool pump is running. If this does not solve the problem, contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly help you - HERE.
Hot weather in the region where your whirlpool tub is located can be the reason why the water temperature rises. Switch your whirlpool tub to power-save mode, minimise the filtration time and open the cover so that the heat can escape. Never leave an uncovered whirlpool tub unattended for safety reasons. The indication „OHH“ on the control means that the thermometer has measured a whirlpool tub water temperature over 43.3°C.
Empty the pool completely, remove all JetPaks and the filter, and store these in a dry place. Detach the screws on the heating element and the pump to remove any residual water from these areas. Insulate the motor with a thick blanket. In the event of heavy snow, ensure the layer of snow on the cover is no deeper than 30 cm. If necessary, place a layer of chipboard over the cover, and cover the entire pool with a tarpaulin.
For more information, please read the instructions. Alternatively, please consult your local dealer.
In regions where temperatures can drop below –15°C, we recommend fixing a 5 cm thick insulation board or cover on the rear side of the equipment compartment door.
IMPORTANT: If the outside temperature reaches 15.6°C during the day, then this insulation must be removed again in order to guard against the devices overheating.
Clean the headrests regularly using mild soap, water and a clean cloth. In order to retain the durability and shine of the product, use a non oil-based product such as e.g. 303 Aerospace Protectant from the manufacturer 303 Products, Inc. once a month. NOTE: Discolouration of the headrests is caused by incorrect chemical water treatment and is not covered by the Villeroy & Boch warranty.
Occasionally dirt from drifts, trees and users collect at the bottom of the whirlpool tub. The filter system removes smaller dirt particles, but bigger and heavier dirt must be removed by means of a whirlpool tub vacuum cleaner. If you do not have such a vacuum cleaner, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Clean the whirlpool tub cover at least once a month.
Step 1: Remove the cover and place it on a flat, clean surface near to a garden hose.
Step 2: Rinse the cover to remove loose dirt.
Step 3: Clean the top side (vinyl) of the cover using a mild washing-up liquid and a soft bristle brush. Carefully rub down the cover making circulating movements and make sure it only dries off after being rinsed with water again.
Step 4: Carefully rinse the cover and dry it with a clean cloth.
Step 5: Use saddle soap (and no oil-based products) to clean the cover in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 6: Wipe and rinse off the dirt on the underside of the cover.
Step 7: Refit the cover and secure the closures.
NOTE: Use lighter fuel to remove tree sap, but use it sparingly. Then immediately treat the area with saddle soap.
The EternaWood™ panelling components are designed for many years of maintenance-free use. Only use a mild washing-up liquid for normal cleaning. To remove stubborn stains, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly help you.
Basic cleaning.
For normal cleaning, please use a mild washing-up liquid such as, e.g. Ivory® or a window cleaner such as Windex®. For stubborn stains, use a mild liquid cleaner such as, e.g. Softscrub® or a mild cleaning agent such as Spic And Span®. Apply these cleaning agents with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Then rinse the tub well and dry it with a clean cloth. To clean hard water stains, remove light scratches and protect your whirlpool tub, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Cleaning the scum line
With normal use of the whirlpool tub, oil, lotion and hair spray residues collect on the surface of the water and leave a scum line around the perimeter. This can be easily removed using a whirlpool tub surface cleaner or its equivalent. Do not use cleaning agents that leave alkali in the water.
WARNING: Never allow your whirlpool tub surface to be exposed to alcohol, acetone (nail polish remover), nail polish, dry cleaning solution, paint thinners, petrol, pine oil, abrasive cleaners or any other household chemicals other than those listed. Using these chemicals can void the warranty.
An indicator light is located on the front of the ozonator (optional). To verify that the ozonator is working properly, check to ensure that the indicator light is burning when the filter pump has been running for a while after being activated automatically.
IMPORTANT: The indicator light does not burn if a jet button has been operated manually. The light will remain off for 30 minutes thereafter.
NOTE: If the indicator light does not turn on during automatic filter pump operation, contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly help you.
To replace a defective light bulb or LED, proceed as follows:
Step 1: Turn off the current at the fuse box.
Step 2: Remove the equipment compartment door, behind which the technical devices are installed.
Step 3: Locate the back of the light fixture.
To replace conventional light bulbs:
Step 4: Grasp the light bulb holder (located on the back of the light fixture) and twist counter-clockwise to release the light bulb from the fixture.
Step 5: Remove the light bulb by pulling it straight out of the light bulb holder.
Step 6: Replace the light bulb and reinstall the light bulb holder.
To replace LEDs:
Step 4: Insert a small standard screwdriver into the tabbed slot (see arrow).
Step 5: Carefully pry off the back light fixture cover.
Step 6: Remove the LED assembly by pulling it straight out. Replace the LED. Reinstall the back cover of the light fixture.
For both lighting systems:
Step 7: Remove the equipment compartment door.
Step 8: Restore the electrical power supply.
NOTE: For information on alternative lighting systems, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
We recommend cleaning the filter cartridge(s) every 1 to 2 weeks or as required. Replace the filter cartridge(s) every 1-2 years or when necessary. To maintain warranty protection, use only genuine Villeroy & Boch filter cartridge replacements. To clean the filter cartridge(s), proceed as follows:
Step 1: Switch the whirlpool tub to standby mode.
Step 2: Remove the filter cover (FilterCap™).
Step 3: Remove the cartridge(s).
Step 4: Clean the cartridge(s) by means of a garden hose with steel nozzle or another high-pressure facility. Clean each fold from top to bottom.
To remove deposits from suntan lotions or body oils, soak the cartridge(s) in warm water with an AquaFinesse filter cleaner.
To remove limescale deposits, soak the cartridge(s) in a plastic container using a 1:10 ratio of muriatic acid to water solution.
Limescale deposits indicate a high pH value in the whirlpool tub, which should be corrected.
Step 5: Reinstall the cartridge(s) and filter cover.
Step 6: Press any button to reset the control system.
IMPORTANT: Using a brush to clean a filter cartridge could cause damage to the cartridge.
Tap water suitable for drinking is not necessarily suitable for filling a whirlpool tub. Normal tap water usually contains minerals and micropollutants that are not visible to the naked eye. Proper testing and treatment of the water in your whirlpool tub are a basic requirement for the hygiene in the tub and for the health of the people that use it. Proper chemical treatment helps to control/prevent the following contamination:
Bacteria, algae and fungi, which can transmit illnesses and infections to people.
Stains and limescale residues on the tub, technical equipment and pipes.
Blocked filters.
CAUTION: Always observe the following important information.
Always observe the chemical producers' instructions.
Use a fully functional and accurate test set to carry out chemical tests.
Chemicals must not be mixed with each other.
Put the chemicals directly into the whirlpool tub, distributing them evenly over the surface of the water or use a suitable feeding or dosing device.
Let the filter pump run at top speed for at least 15 minutes after using chemicals.
Check the level of chemicals on a regular basis.
Bear in mind that the designation of whirlpool tub chemicals can vary depending on the producer.
If you have any questions, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Maintaining the water quality.
To enjoy your whirlpool tub as long as possible and maximise the service life of the components, the quality of the water in it must be kept within specified limits. To do this is quite simple, however, this requires regular care as the chemical composition of the whirlpool tub water is subject to various interconnected factors. There is no patent remedy and there is no way of avoiding it. If not done properly, the water quality is impaired and could thus cause harm to the user. It could also cause damage to the whirlpool tub. For further information on maintaining the water quality, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly recommend suitable chemicals for disinfecting and maintaining your whirlpool tub.
Disinfection
Disinfectants kill off bacteria and germs and thus keep the water pure. If the disinfectant level is too low, then bacteria and germs can quickly proliferate in the whirlpool tub water. To increase the level, simply add an approved disinfectant to the water. If the disinfectant level is too high, this could cause irritations to the eyes, lungs and skin. To reduce the level, simply wait - the amount of disinfectant in the water will automatically drop as time goes by. Effective and safe disinfectants are, e.g. granular chlorine (it is essential to use granular dichlorine) and granular bromine.
NOTE: More frequent use of the whirlpool tub or a higher number of users leads to a greater disinfectant requirement in order to maintain the recommended concentration.
NOTE: Ozone cleaning is only recommended to complement the above-mentioned disinfectants. The WellSpring™ ozone purifier from Villeroy & Boch, in conjunction with a standard chemical whirlpool tub cleaning programme, increases the water quality quite substantially.
CAUTION: Ozone may not be used as the only disinfectant for cleaning the water and preventing stains, limescale residues or foaming.
WARNING: Trichlorine tablets must not be used for the whirlpool tub! Their fast dissolution, strength and extremely low pH value can cause heavy damage to the surface and components of the whirlpool tub. Using trichlorine tablets will void the warranty.
WARNING: Bromine and dichlorine tablets are only recommended as a suitable disinfectant for Villeroy & Boch whirlpool tubs if they are used together with a suitable feeding or dosing device. Sporadic or excessive use of bromine or chlorine in the whirlpool tub can cause damage to the surface and component failure. The use of these tablets in an automatic rinser requires more frequent monitoring and checking. Inappropriate use of bromine and dichlorine tablets will void the warranty.
WARNING: Biguanide products are not recommended for use in your whirlpool tub either. These products are known for causing damage to contact lenses, pump seals and other whirlpool tub components. Inappropriate use of biguanide products void the warranty.
Shock treatment
A normal disinfection does not eliminate chloramine (bound chlorine), bromamine (bound bromine) or other non-filterable substances such as, e.g. sweat, grease, hairspray, etc. which collect in water. These substances make the water look and smell unpleasant and can impair the effect of disinfectants. The term shocking or shock treatment of the whirlpool tub water is used when the level of granular chlorine (dichlorine) increases to at least 10.0 ppm or the level of granular bromine (bromine concentrate) increases to at least 22.0 ppm. Such a shock treatment can also be achieved without chlorine, e.g. with potassium peroxymonosulfate or equivalent compounds. If you require additional support, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly help you.
After shocking the whirlpool tub water, you should leave the whirlpool tub cover at least half open for a minimum of 20 minutes so that the disinfectant vapours can escape. Do not leave the whirlpool tub unattended when children are around. If the highly concentrated cleaning vapours cannot escape through the open cover, then they can cause discolouration or damage on the underside of the cover. Such damage to the cover is not covered by the warranty on the whirlpool tub.
WARNING: Never leave the uncovered whirlpool tub unattended, especially when children are around.
IMPORTANT: Before using the whirlpool tub, the chlorine level must drop below 5.0 ppm or the bromine level below 11.0 ppm.
pH value setting
A correct pH value setting is extremely important in order to make the water pleasant for the users and to prevent any damage to the whirlpool tub and equipment. The pH value is a measurement for the acidic or alkaline reaction of an aqueous solution. The pH scale covers 0-14. The range between 0 and below 7 is described as acidic, a pH value over 7 indicates that the environment is alkaline. The ideal pH value for the water in a whirlpool tub is 7.4 to 7.6.
An excessively high pH value (over 7.6) can cause limescale residues on the whirlpool tub and its components, cloudy water, prematurely dirty filters and a less effective water treatment. You can correct an excessively high pH value by adding a pH reducer.
An excessively low pH value (below 7.4) can cause irritations and discomfort whilst bathing, a quickly decreasing effect of the disinfectant as well as corrosion on the whirlpool tub components. You can correct an excessively low pH value by adding a pH raiser.
NOTE: Muriatic acid must not be used to adjust the pH value as it can cause damage to the whirlpool tub and its components.
Total alkalinity (TA)
The total alkalinity measures the total content of alkaline components (carbonates and bicarbonates) in the water, which, when adjusted correctly, act as a buffer against quick pH value fluctuations. A correct total alkalinity is important for an optimum chemical composition of the whirlpool tub water. An excessively low TA can lead to an unstable pH value and thus to corrosion or limescale residues on the whirlpool tub and its components. An excessively low total alkalinity can be corrected by adding a TA raiser. An excessively high TA can cause limescale, cloudy water and other pH problems. If the total alkalinity in your whirlpool tub water is too high, then please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Calcium hardness (CH)
The calcium hardness specifies the amount of calcium present in the water. An excessively low calcium hardness (soft water) can cause stains on the whirlpool tub as well as corrosion on its components. An excessively low calcium hardness can be corrected by adding a CH raiser. An excessively high calcium hardness (hard water) can cause cloudy water as well as limescale on the whirlpool tub and its components. If the calcium hardness of the whirlpool tub water is too high, then the water should be diluted by mixing it with water that has been treated with a water softener or by adding a special water softener (chemical) (for further information, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer). IMPORTANT: The whirlpool tub may only be filled with soft water if a suitable mineral additive is immediately added (for further information, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer).
Protection against stains and limescale residues.
Staining and limescale residues often occur in hot water environments. In order to prevent these problems and keep them under control, we recommend adding a stain and limescale inhibitor.
Controlling foam formation.
Warm whirlpool tub water in which body oils and lotions collect has the tendency to foam more on the surface. A foam remover can be used as a temporary solution. Shocking the water is the best way to control foam formation. The soap residues which normal amounts of disinfectant can no longer handle are thus destroyed.
Cloudy water: Prevention and control.
Clouding of the whirlpool tub water is mainly due to the following two reasons. The water is contaminated by non-filterable fluids (e.g. sweat). The water has to be shocked in order to remove such substances. Or: The water is contaminated by non-filterable micro particles (e.g. dust). Use a water clearer to remove these substances.
IMPORTANT: The whirlpool tub may only be filled with soft water if a suitable mineral additive is immediately added. If your water is extremely hard, then the water should be diluted by mixing it with water that has been treated with a water softener or by adding a special water softener. Your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer will gladly provide further information.
Step 1: For initial protection against stains and limescale residues, add the prescribed amount of stain and limescale inhibitor on filling the whirlpool tub. When the whirlpool tub has been filled, add the prescribed amount of water clearer, which will remove any micro particles contained in the fresh water.
Step 2: If possible, let your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer test the calcium hardness (CH) of the whirlpool tub water. Then adjust the CH to 150 to 200 ppm (parts per million, i.e. 10−6).
Step 3: Test the total alkalinity (TA) and adjust it accordingly. The TA should lie in the range of 125 to 150 ppm.
Step 4: Test the pH value of the water and adjust it accordingly. The pH value should lie between 7.4 and 7.6.
Step 5: Shock the whirlpool tub water after it has circulated for an hour. To do so, add 2 teaspoons (10cc) of granular chlorine (only use dichlorine) or 4 teaspoons (20cc) of granular bromine per 909,2 litres [uneven number due to conversion from gallons, T.N.]. (For detailed information, please refer to the "Shock treatment" section). Check the disinfectant levels in the water after a few hours and adjust them, if necessary, as follows:
Without ozone
With ozone
Chlorine
3.0 - 5.0 PPM*
2.0 - 4.0 PPM
Bromine
6.7 - 11.0 PPM
5.7 – 10.0 PPM
*PPM = parts per million, i.e. 10−6
IMPORTANT: Only use the whirlpool tub when the amount of disinfectants lies in the range specified above. NOTE: If the level of disinfectants is too high, simply wait, as the amount of disinfectant in the water will automatically drop as time goes by.
Step 6: The initial chemical water treatment has now been completed. However, it can take a few days before the filters have completely cleared the water.
Check the water in the whirlpool tub each time before use. If the water looks cloudy, has an unusual colour, forms too much foam on the surface or smells excessively of chlorine or bromine, then it must be treated or drained. In this case, using the whirlpool tub can cause skin irritations, rashes, infections or other serious health hazards. If you need help with the chemical water treatment, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer or another service point that is able to carry out a computer-supported water analysis.
As time goes by, not only substances used for treating the whirlpool tub water collect in the water, but also residues from detergents in swimsuits and from bathing and shower additives on the skin and thus make water treatment increasingly difficult. Rinsing the swimsuit and showering without using soap before using the whirlpool tub help keep the whirlpool tub clean, clear and pleasant for a longer period. The whirlpool tub water must be changed every 1 to 4 months, depending on its use or when it becomes difficult to set the quantities of chemicals. All JetPaks™ must be removed from the whirlpool tub before changing the water. Clean the JetPod™ areas with surface cleaner suitable for whirlpool tubs. Refer to the "Whirlpool tub care" section. Clean the backs of the JetPaks™ with the lines and connections using a surface cleaner suitable for whirlpool tubs and a long, soft bristle brush.
IMPORTANT: Drain the water from the whirlpool tub at a point where such a big volume of water isn't a problem. If you are going to drain the water outside, make sure that the quantities of disinfectants in the water (chlorine or bromine) do not exceed 0.5 PPM.
WARNING: Make sure the drained water does not get into the basement through a window or lightwell.
Drain your whirlpool tub as follows:
Step 1: Disconnect the power supply to the whirlpool tub.
Step 2: The drain valve is located below the equipment compartment door, behind which the technical devices are installed.
Step 3: Pull the drain valve out by turning it slightly clockwise.
Note: The drain valve is fully extended at approx. 5cm. Use pliers, if necessary.
Step 4: Remove the cover from the drain valve.
Note: No water can escape when the drain valve is fully extended.
Step 5: Connect a standard garden hose. Push the drain valve half way in so that the water can drain out.
Note: Approximately 19 litres per minute drain out of the whirlpool tub. Make sure you drain the water at a safe distance from lightwells or basement doors.
Step 6: When all the whirlpool water has drained out, pull the drain valve right out, remove the garden hose, refit the valve cover and then push the drain valve right in again.
Refill your whirlpool tub with water as follows:
WARNING: Always shock the fresh water when refilling the whirlpool tub. Observe the instructions under "Chemical water treatment".
Step 1: In order to avoid air bubbles in the pump(s), route the hose through the skimmer flap and into the filter unit when filling the whirlpool tub. Fill it up to the water level mark on the cover plate of the filter unit.
Step 2: Reconnect the whirlpool tub to the power supply.
Step 3: Press any button to reset the control system.
Step 4: Fasten the equipment compartment door again.
Step 5: Then follow the instructions under "Refilling the whirlpool tub".
NOTE: A higher water level means less people can use the whirlpool tub.
Before taking delivery of your whirlpool tub, make sure the access path is free and not obstructed by anything. Obstructions such as, e.g. overhanging tree limbs, marquees, projecting gas/water meters and air conditioning units can hinder access. A gate, a section of fencing or some other object may have to be removed to roll the whirlpool tub to the desired location. If there are more than six consecutive steps without a resting place along the way, it may be necessary to find another access path. Check the dimensions at 90° bends to ensure that the whirlpool tub can be moved around the corner. A crane may be required to lift the whirlpool tub to its installation position. This is the case if the whirlpool tub has to be unloaded from the trolley to overcome a wall because, for example, the access area is too narrow, a roof overhang is too low, a corner is too tight or a stairway too steep. A crane is often used and is usually the easiest and safest method of moving a whirlpool tub if access is difficult. The crane has an arm mounted on the lorry and can easily access your driveway. The crane driver lifts the whirlpool tub over walls, buildings or other obstructions and places it as near as possible to the installation location.
A- Obstructions such as, e.g. overhanging tree limbs, marquees, projecting gas/water meters and air conditioning units can hinder access.
B- WARNING: Watch out for power supply lines.
C- A gate, a section of fencing or some other object may have to be removed to roll the whirlpool tub to the desired location.
D- Check the dimensions at 90° bends to ensure that the whirlpool tub can be moved around the corner.
E- If there are more than six consecutive steps without a resting place along the way, it may be necessary to find another access path.
The whirlpool tub can be transported horizontally or vertically, depending on the condition of the access path. You will find the dimensions of your whirlpool tub in a horizontal or vertical position in the following tables. NOTE: The height of the trolley used must be added to the height of the whirlpool tub. You then have the overall unobstructed height required for delivering the whirlpool tub. Such trolleys are normally 15.24 cm high. (If necessary, ask your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer for the exact height.)
If you are installing the whirlpool tub in the house, then a few requirements must be met: Your Villeroy & Boch whirlpool tub is the safest and most leak-proof whirlpool tub in the entire industry sector, but there is always a residual risk that a leak could occur. The area under and around the whirlpool tub should therefore be water-resistant, and preferably even waterproof. Please bear in mind that water occasionally splashes out of the whirlpool tub or that a leak can occur. In order to guard against such situations, it is advisable to install a floor drain and/or a collecting tub that corresponds with the volume of water in your whirlpool. Furthermore, condensation can form on the whirlpool tub cover and drip onto the floor. Make sure the flooring still provides sufficient support in a wet state and is resistant to continuous exposure to water and chemicals.[ It is also advisable to ensure sufficient ventilation in the room in which the whirlpool tub is located. The air humidity in the room increases naturally through the installation and use of the whirlpool tub. Water can get into wooden constructions and cause wood fungus, mould or other problems. In the course of time, a high air humidity and the whirlpool chemicals can cause water damage on the floor, walls and ceiling. Therefore, monitor the effects of the air humidity on wood, wallpaper and colours in the room. In order to minimise damage due to air humidity, the room should be sufficiently ventilated, e.g. by means of a ceiling fan and the paintwork should be moisture-resistant. An architect can tell you whether special ventilation facilities, such as a hygrostat or an air dehumidifier are required. They can be installed to regulate the air humidity in the room whilst the whirlpool tub is being used.
NOTE: Typical floor materials for inside installation are concrete, wood, slip-resistant tiles or linoleum.
1) Avoid an installation location where the whirlpool tub comes into contact with an excessive amount of water, such as, e.g. sprinkler systems or roof edges without a gutter.
2) Avoid (if possible) areas where there is direct, prolonged solar radiation. Ultra-violet radiation can fade or damage the whirlpool tub cover and panelling.
3) Check whether national or local legal regulations are applicable that stipulate fencing or childproof access points around the whirlpool tub.
4) In order to prevent dust, sand and foliage from being carried into the whirlpool tub, use concrete, concrete slabs or stones for the access paths and areas, or do not install the whirlpool tub in areas where dirt can be carried into the tub. Check whether wind or rain could carry dirt from nearby trees and gutters into the whirlpool tub.
When you choose the location, bear in mind that the view from the whirlpool tub and its visibility change with the seasons. You can then select the installation location so that your bathing experience is even more enjoyable and unrestricted.
NOTE: Typical floor materials for outside installation are concrete, bricks, slip-resistant tiles, timber planking, gravel or sand.
Maintenance access: Some whirlpool tub owners clad the area around the tub with tiles or wood. If you wish to fit special panelling, then you should also plan a maintenance entrance. This is because when the whirlpool tub has to be serviced, the maintenance technician may have to remove the equipment compartment door or side panels or access the whirlpool tub from underneath. We also advise you to install the whirlpool tub in such a way that it can be moved or lifted off the ground if necessary.
Access to the circuit breakers: The circuit breakers on the circuit board (permanently connected models) or the disconnecting switch on the end of the power cable (models connected by cable) must be kept free and easily accessible for maintenance purposes.
Electrical safety requirements: Installation of the whirlpool tub must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations. When selecting a location for your whirlpool tub, please consult a qualified electrician for advice on the following electrical issues:
High-voltage power lines (above-ground lines): You must install the whirlpool tub both horizontally and vertically at the stipulated minimum distance from all power lines in accordance with valid national and local electrical installation regulations.
Main switch: A shut-off device must be fitted in the whirlpool tub cabling, depending on the region where you live and in accordance with valid national and local electrical installation regulations. A residual current circuit breaker can be used instead of a main switch, provided it meets the same requirements and the valid national and local electrical installation regulations permit this.
Power sockets, switches and devices: You must install the whirlpool tub at the stipulated minimum distance from all power sockets, switches and electrical devices in accordance with valid national and local electrical installation regulations.
Earth connection: The control system inside the equipment compartment of the whirlpool tub must be connected to all metal devices, railings, housings and pipes/lines located within the stipulated maximum distance in accordance with valid national and local electrical installation regulations. The earth connection must be connected to earth on the outside of the control system box and all above-mentioned metal parts.
Access to the equipment compartment: Make sure the whirlpool tub is positioned so that the equipment compartment is freely accessible.
All other national and local regulations that could be applicable.
Water drainage: Do not install the whirlpool tub in a recess or pit where water can collect and damage the whirlpool tub or its equipment. Select a place where water can flow away from the whirlpool tub. The whirlpool tub has an equipment compartment in which all electrical components are located. If water gets into the equipment compartment, it can damage the electronics or trigger the whirlpool tub circuit breaker. The power cable for the whirlpool tub must be routed so that water cannot reach the disconnecting switch on the power cable.
Using a lifting mechanism for the cover: If you will be using a lifting mechanism for the cover, we recommend leaving a free space of 0.61 m behind the whirlpool tub. Ask your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer for the exact dimensions if you are planning to use a lifting mechanism.
General guidelines: Choose a robust, even surface for the foundation of the whirlpool tub. If the installation surface moves or sinks into the ground, this can cause tension in the tub. The foundation under the whirlpool tub must be capable of bearing the weight of the whirlpool tub, the whirlpool water and the users. A whirlpool tub can have a maximum filling weight of up to 2,722 kg. In addition, the weight of the whirlpool tub users must also be taken into account. We recommend using a concrete base, concrete slabs or bricks, gravel, broken stones (3.81cm or less) or a reinforced board as ground material. In addition, your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer should be able to supply or recommend prefabricated whirlpool tub foundations.
NOTE: Concrete foundations should be at least 10.16 cm thick and be reinforced with reinforcing bars or reinforcing steel mesh. These bars or the mesh should be earthed by connecting them to an earth connection.
WARNING: The whirlpool tub foundation must lie on flat, stable and even ground in order to prevent serious damage to the whirlpool tub. Villeroy & Boch recommends consulting a qualified building contractor before installing the whirlpool tub foundation. If you require additional support, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer, who will gladly help you.
WARNING: The whirlpool tub foundation has to permanently carry the entire base of the whirlpool tub so no levelling pieces or shims should be used. If you have to level the whirlpool tub, then make sure the entire construction is fully supported both in the middle and at the edges. The levelling work must not create any cavities under the whirlpool tub. Before carrying out any levelling work, please contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer. Damage to the whirlpool tub due to incorrect installation, laying an insufficient foundation or incorrect levelling will void the warranty on the whirlpool tub.
CAUTION: You should consult a qualified construction engineer or building contractor before installing the whirlpool tub on a raised platform or a pedestal.
Installation on a raised platform: Make sure the platform can carry the maximum filling weight of the whirlpool tub as well as the total weight of the whirlpool tub users. In order to do so, you must know the carrying capacity of the platform and ensure that it is higher than the maximum filling weight of the whirlpool tub plus the total weight of the whirlpool tub users, otherwise serious injuries or damage to the construction can occur. You will find the required carrying capacity and the maximum filling weight of the whirlpool tub in the table with the technical data of your whirlpool tub. Otherwise, you are welcome to contact your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Flooring options: The flooring you choose should not only meet the recommended safety and maintenance criteria, but its appearance and colour can also contribute towards improving the area in which the whirlpool tub is installed. You can, for example, match the colour and appearance of the flooring with that of the whirlpool tub, make a sharp contrast or develop other colour and structure concepts. You should take your time to contemplate the available options. Paying for a landscape architect could be a good investment.
Landscape: The landscape around your whirlpool tub not only creates a pleasant transition to the floor area around the tub, but also enriches the environment. If your budget is big enough, you can also consult a landscape architect for expert advice.
Whirlpool tub accessories: Apart from selecting suitable flooring and designing the surrounding landscape, you can round off your wellness area nicely by adding suitable whirlpool tub accessories. A step, benches, towel holders, flower boxes or an outside fireplace are just a few examples that you can contemplate when you equip your whirlpool tub.

Cross-section and type of power supply cable: The cross-section of the required power supply cable to the whirlpool tub depends on the length of the cable and should be determined by a qualified electrician. Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations. Copper cable must be used for the wiring. Aluminium cable must not be used.
Location of the whirlpool tub
Residual current circuit breaker: All whirlpool tubs and corresponding electrical components must be protected by means of a residual current circuit breaker at the main fuse box or main switch in accordance with valid national and local electrical installation regulations.
WARNING: Removing or bypassing the residual current circuit breaker makes the whirlpool tub unsafe to use and voids the warranty. When the residual current circuit breaker is installed, all conductors with the exception of the green protective earth conductor, incl. the neutral conductor, must be run through the residual current circuit breaker. It is essential that the neutral conductor is not bypassed. Bypassing the neutral conductor produces a current imbalance, which triggers the residual current circuit breaker. Also refer to the circuit diagram of the residual current circuit breaker or contact Villeroy & Boch, LC or your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
STIPULATED TEST PROCEDURE: After filling the whirlpool tub and using it for the first time, and before each use, the residual current circuit breaker should be tested as follows:
Step 1: Press the Test button on the residual current circuit breaker. The whirlpool tub should then stop operating.
Step 2: Press the Reset button after 30 seconds and check whether the power supply to the whirlpool tub is restored.
If the residual current circuit breaker does not react as described above, there could be a malfunction and thus a risk of electric shock. In this case, switch off the residual current circuit breaker and only use the whirlpool tub again when the malfunction has been rectified by a qualified electrician or your authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer.
Separate circuit breaker: The electrical supply to the whirlpool tub must be equipped with a suitable switch or circuit breaker. No matter whether it is a whirlpool tub with 120V~/60Hz connected by cable or a permanently connected whirlpool tub with 120V~/60Hz, 230V~/60Hz or 230V~/50Hz, the switch may only be used for the power supply to the whirlpool tub and not for the power supply to other power sockets, units or devices.
Cable duct: Every Villeroy & Boch whirlpool tub has a cable duct in which the power supply lines to the control system box are routed. The cable duct is located at the front left-hand corner of the whirlpool tub (when standing in front of the whirlpool tub control panel).
A maximum of 12V in current carrying parts: The voltage in current carrying parts accessible to the user must not exceed 12V.
Conversion to 230V~/60Hz 30A: If a current of 50A is not available, an authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer or electrician can simply convert your whirlpool tub to operation at 30A (conversion instructions are in the control system box). Please note that a whirlpool tub that has been converted to operation at 30A can only heat up water when pump 1 is running at a low speed, not at a high speed. This restriction is acceptable for most climates and for inside use.
Conversion options for operation at 230V~/50Hz: If a current of 32A is not available, an authorised Villeroy & Boch specialist dealer or electrician can simply convert your whirlpool tub to a single or two-phase supply with 16A x 2. Conversion instructions for the following configurations are in the control system box of the whirlpool tub.
230V~/50Hz 16A single-phase supply: Please note that a whirlpool tub that has been converted to operation at 16 A can only heat up water when the circulation pump is running at a low speed, not at a high speed. This restriction is acceptable for most climates and for inside use.
230V~/50Hz 16A two-phase supply: Operation of the whirlpool tub is the same as when using a single-phase 32A supply, apart from the supply being split into two separate 16A supplies.
400V~/50Hz 16A x 30, supply with 3 separate neutral conductors: Operation of the whirlpool tub is the same as when using a 32A supply, however, the supply is split into three separate 16A supplies with three separate neutral conductors.
New installation and reinstallation: This information applies to both new installations and reinstallations (when, for example, a whirlpool tub is repositioned or taken to a new location).
120V~/60Hz or 230V~/60Hz voltage transformer
Whirlpool tubs with one pump can be equipped with a voltage transformer (model BF03). The BF03 transformers allow the whirlpool tub to be operated with a 120V~/60Hz or 230V~/60Hz supply, depending on the pump that is installed.
120V~/60Hz pump: Whirlpool tubs that are equipped with a 120V~/60Hz pump can be connected by cable at 120V~/60Hz or permanently connected at 120V~/60Hz or 230V~/60Hz.
120V~/60Hz, connected by cable: This option is only possible if the whirlpool tub was ordered with a 120V~/60Hz pump and a 120V~/60Hz power cable. If the whirlpool tub is connected to a power cable from a different manufacturer, it may no longer be safe and thus void the safety certification and warranty. Whirlpool tubs connected by a cable are already converted to operation at 120V~/60Hz at the factory and are supplied with a 4.57 m long standard power cable (maximum permissible length), which is connected to the whirlpool tub. This factory-installed power cable is equipped with a residual current circuit breaker.
IMPORTANT: In order to prevent hazards, cables are only allowed to be replaced with special cable sets that are obtainable from the manufacturer, his service partner or other similarly qualified persons.
In the case of whirlpool tubs with 120V~/60Hz connected by a cable, the factory-installed power cable with an integrated residual current circuit breaker must be connected to its own earthed single-phase electric circuit/power socket with 120V~/60Hz and 20A. This electric circuit may only be used for the whirlpool tub and no other electrical devices, otherwise the whirlpool tub could malfunction. For safety reasons, the power socket to which the whirlpool tub is to be connected must be within the permissible minimum distance specified by national and local electrical installation regulations. Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
Fill the whirlpool tub before switching it on: Before switching on the current, the whirlpool tub must be filled up to the recommended filling level (refer to checklist for measures to be taken before filling).
Residual current circuit breaker: The unit should be equipped with a residual current circuit breaker with a nominal tripping current of up to 30mA.
WARNING: An extension cable must not be used. Villeroy & Boch does not permit the use of an extension cable under any circumstances. Using an extension cable will void the warranty for the whirlpool equipment. In addition, this exposes the user to an additional fire hazard, risk of electric shock and danger to life and limb.
120V~/60Hz, permanent connection: If your whirlpool tub was not ordered with a 120V~/60Hz power cable, then the technical equipment is designed for operation at 230V~/60Hz (even if it is equipped with a 120V~/60Hz pump). The whirlpool tub equipment must be converted from the 230V~/60Hz configuration to a 120V~/60Hz configuration before connecting the whirlpool tub to 120V~/60Hz. You can find precise instructions for this conversion in the system circuit diagram in the control system box (in the equipment compartment of the whirlpool tub).
Permanently connected whirlpool tubs with 120V~/60Hz require a 3-pole (line 1, neutral conductor and earth), single-phase separate electric circuit with 120V~/60Hz, 20A protected by a residual current circuit breaker. This electric circuit may only be used for the whirlpool tub and no other electrical devices, otherwise the whirlpool tub could malfunction. Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
230V~/60Hz, permanent connection: The whirlpool tub is already set up for operation at 230V~/60Hz even if it is equipped with a 120V~/60Hz pump, provided that the whirlpool tub was not ordered with a factory-connected 120V~/60Hz power cable. In this case, the whirlpool tub equipment must be converted from the 120V~/60Hz configuration to the 230V~/60Hz configuration. You can find precise instructions for this conversion in the system circuit diagram in the control system box (in the equipment compartment of the whirlpool tub).
Permanently connected whirlpool tubs with 230V~/60Hz require a 4-pole (line 1, line 2, neutral conductor and earth), single-phase separate electric circuit with 230V~/60Hz, 50A protected by a residual current circuit breaker.
This electric circuit may only be used for the whirlpool tub and no other electrical devices, otherwise the whirlpool tub could malfunction. Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
230V~/60Hz pump: Whirlpool tubs equipped with a 230V~/60Hz pump must be permanently connected. 230V~/60Hz, permanent connection: Your whirlpool tub is designed for operation at 230V~/60Hz.
230V~/60Hz equipment (model BF05 American / Canadian whirlpool tubs with 2 pumps)
All whirlpool tubs without a voltage transformer are fitted with equipment with 230V~/60Hz (model BF05). This equipment is only designed for operation at 230V~/60Hz.
Permanently connected whirlpool tubs with 230V~/60Hz require a 4-pole (line 1, line 2, neutral conductor and earth), single-phase separate electric circuit with 230V~/60Hz, 50A, protected by a residual current circuit breaker. This electric circuit may only be used for the whirlpool tub and no other electrical devices, otherwise the whirlpool tub could malfunction. Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
230V~/50Hz equipment (model BF04 all European whirlpool tubs)
These whirlpool tubs are equipped with pumps with 230V~/50Hz and equipment with 230V~/50Hz (model BF04). If the technical equipment is designed for 230V~/50Hz, then your whirlpool tub can only be operated with a 230V~/50Hz supply.
Permanently connected whirlpool tubs with 230V~/50Hz require a single-phase 32A supply, a single-phase 16A supply or a two-phase 16A supply with 400V 16A x 30, 3N via a separate electric circuit, protected by a residual current circuit breaker. This electric circuit may only be used for the whirlpool tub and no other electrical devices, otherwise the whirlpool tub could malfunction. You can find precise instructions for this conversion in the system circuit diagram in the control system box (in the equipment compartment of the whirlpool tub). Installation must be carried out in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
IMPORTANT: Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with national and local electrical installation regulations.
Step 1: Select one of the three available inlets for the cable duct. (yellow sticker)
Step 2: Determine the diameter of the cable duct and then drill a suitably dimensioned hole for it (if it is a ¾ inch cable duct, drill a 1-1/8 inch hole, if it is a 1 inch cable duct, drill a 1-3/8 inch hole). The + indicates where the centre of the hole should be. The hole saw must be able to saw through two plastic layers, between which there a 1 inch gap.
Step 3: Press the cable duct through the hole until it reaches the equipment compartment.
Step 4: Remove the cover from the control system box.
Step 5: Connect the cable duct to the control system box by means of a liquid-tight plug connection.
Step 6: Guide the required cables through the cable duct to the control system box.
Step 7: Connect the power supply cables to the terminal block in the control system box.
Step 8: Refit the cover on the control system box and the equipment compartment door. The electrical connection has now been completed.
In general, the regular use of bath additives should be avoided. Bath salts and oil-free bath additives can be used. Bubble bath products should be avoided when using the whirlpool tub as they cause excessive foaming.
As our range includes different models with different equipment and technologies, the best way to go is via your specialist dealer, in order to ensure a swift and smooth process.
Villeroy & Boch has experienced the best results with Aqua Finesse, which is why we also market this product. However, it's up to you to determine which water treatment agents you wish to use. They can be classic products with chlorine, bromine or active oxygen, or other suitable products.
Yes, but you must ensure that you can access the technical equipment (equipment compartment door). The equipment is located below the upper control panel on all Villeroy & Boch whirlpool tubs. Please bear in mind that water can accumulate in the pit (e.g. due to heavy rain), so a drain must be installed. When the whirlpool tub is embedded flush with the ground, please also bear in mind that you have to take a big step down into the water to enter the tub, thus impairing your balance.
You have chosen a high-quality product made of sanitary acrylic, which only permits slight surficial staining. We therefore recommend using a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Please prevent cleaning agents from getting into the bathing water as they pollute the water and can cause foaming.
Yes! Always keep your whirlpool tub covered and protect it against direct solar radiation. Never leave an uncovered whirlpool tub unattended for safety reasons.
Wellness - Indoor Whirlpools
The tub should be rinsed with water after each bath. All common household, mild bath cleaning products can be used for the surfaces. Please do not use scouring agents or rough sponges - use a cloth.
Your whirlpool tub has an integrated residual water drainage system. Residual water is thus drained off after use via the whirlpool tub piping In addition, some models have an automatic blow drying system which dries off the lines.
We recommend monthly cleaning (usage-dependent) with a good whirlpool cleaner, e.g. Hagesan hygienic whirlpool cleaner.
Airpools: Nozzles in the base blow air into the bathwater and distribute it finely. This air massage has a stimulating effect and relaxes tense muscles effectively.
Hydropools: Water is extracted from the bath via a pump and injected back via nozzles. These water nozzles in the sides, front and back ends of the bath locally stimulate your muscular system and your metabolism.
Combipools: Combination of air and water nozzles – this combination has a unique effect, relaxing tense muscles and stimulating vascular circulation.

The complete whirlpool tub is supplied pre-installed ex works. Only the water and electricity connections have to be made on the spot. The installation height is higher than for a normal bath. All technical devices must remain accessible in order to ensure swift access to the electronic units. It is advisable to use the Villeroy & Boch Multibox or another flexible covering. Direct contact with the building should be avoided for sound protection reasons. A sufficient air intake should be ensured. This is established by both the ventilation grid and the Multibox. If you prefer a different solution, then you should make sure that an air passage of 4000 mm² is attained. The drain pipe should have a dimension of 40 or 50 mm and be preinstalled in the proximity of the installation location. It is advisable to install the whirlpool tub against the tiled wall and on the tiled floor. An electrical connection must be prepared in accordance with the DIN / VDE directive. The voltage is 230V / 50Hz and must be installed via a separate feed line (3 x 2.5 mm² + potential equalisation 1 x 2.5 mm²) via a fault-current circuit breaker. The feed line should be laid with a sufficient length in the proximity of the whirlpool tub. A power switch must be installed between the feed line and the switch box for the whirlpool tub. Both the preinstallation and the connection should be carried out by a specialised tradesman. The Villeroy & Boch devices and jets required for our whirlpool systems end flush with or below the edge of the tub. Depending on the combination of whirlpool system, tub and accessories, it may thus not be possible to tile directly under the edge of the tub.
All products from Villeroy & Boch are subject to statutory warranty provisions. We also grant a 10-year warranty in accordance with the relevant warranty terms on baths and shower trays made of acrylic and Quaryl.
The whirlpool systems from Villeroy & Boch comply with valid regulations and international standard requirements. In addition, all systems have been tested and approved by independent institutes such as, e.g. TüV and KEMA.
A function and leak test are carried out on every single hot tub before it leaves the production plant.
The whirlpool tubs should only be installed by authorised specialist firms.
