Vanity washbasins are generally mounted on the wall and combined with a coordinating bathroom storage unit. If a suitable wall attachment is available, the washbasin can also be used without a vanity unit, i.e. as a wall-mounted washbasin. For washbasins with no wall attachment, the washbasin is supported by the furniture unit and cannot be installed without one.
Usually, any Villeroy & Boch wall-mounted washbasin or vanity washbasin with a wall attachment can also be installed without a vanity unit. Contact us directly to find out whether we have a suitable range of bathroom furniture for your chosen collection.
You could use one of our vanity units to conceal the drain pipe of your washbasin and enjoy maximum storage space in the bathroom. Another option would be to use a siphon cover or pedestal. Options vary depending on the washbasin collection.
For small bathrooms, we recommend hand washbasins or washbasins with minimal protrusion. Villeroy & Boch also offers special space-saving compact washbasins for select bathroom collections.
Our range of products includes washbasins in a wide variety of sizes and shapes to allow perfect coordination in every bathroom. The widths of the vanity washbasins vary between 80 and 130 centimetres. Washbasins for small bathrooms range between 36 and 65 centimetres.
You can calculate the height at which the washbasin should be installed based on your own height. The German Institute for Standardisation recommends a distance of 85 to 95 centimetres from the floor to the upper edge of the basin.
We can generally provide you with a washbasin in your chosen version. If this is not possible, you can request a customised washbasin.
Washbasins are usually supplied for a 1-hole tap fitting with one hole in the centre. However, if you would prefer to use a 3-hole tap fitting, the required tap holes are usually pre-drilled at the factory and can be located on the underside of the washbasin. If you are unsure, ask your dealer or a trusted bathroom installer before ordering. Depending on the collection, you may also find versions that are already equipped with three tap holes.

CeramicPlus
For everyday care of your washbasin, we recommend a soft, non-scratch sponge or cloth. If you wish to use a cleaning product, choose a standard all-purpose cleaner. Do not use aggressive, abrasive or environmentally harmful products. In the case of very stubborn dirt, simply leave the bathroom cleaner or limescale remover to act overnight. Gel or foam cleaners are ideal, as they also adhere well to sloping surfaces. Or: simply place a cloth soaked in cleaning agent on the stain. CeramicPlus is resistant to all common household acids and alkalis (including cosmetic products and medicines containing solvents, alcohol or acetone). Like all ceramic surfaces, CeramicPlus will be damaged by repeated use of the following products: scouring creams or powders, concentrated drain cleaners, tap and steel cleaners or bleaches containing chlorine.
Sanitary ceramics
Villeroy & Boch sanitary ceramics have smooth, dense and virtually scratch-proof surfaces that are resistant to all common household acids and alkalis. For everyday maintenance, clear water and a damp cloth are all you need to keep your washbasin clean. Water marks, residual grease or soap can be removed easily using a bathroom cleaner or a vinegar-based cleaning product. If you would like to avoid "chemicals" entirely, you can use household vinegar or diluted vinegar essence to quickly rid your washbasin of limescale deposits.
TitanCeram
TitanCeram is easy to clean and particularly resistant to shock, impact, scratches, heat and cold. TitanCeram can be cleaned with very little time and effort, just like regular ceramics. Clean water and a damp cloth are all you need for everyday care of your washbasin.
